Her experience from the research campus will strengthen the link between research and practice for the ringberlin model campus
The Berlin-based project developer KOIMO Development is strengthening its team with the appointment of Nina Weber. The former managing director of the Mobility2Grid research campus joined KOIMO in October as a senior project manager. A key factor in this collaboration is, in particular, her many years of experience at the interface between research, business and practical application. In future, this expertise is set to play an increasingly important role in the development of the ringberlin model campus, which serves as a transfer hub for the Mobility2Grid research campus.
KOIMO is a partner of the Mobility2Grid Research Campus, where stakeholders from academia and industry work together to develop solutions for sustainable urban energy and mobility systems. Until she joined KOIMO, Nina Weber had been Managing Director of the Research Campus since 2020. In this role, she coordinated collaboration between project partners from industry and academia with differing interests and working methods, was responsible for communications, maintained relationships with stakeholders and supported the members of Mobility2Grid e.V. As a result, she not only brings extensive experience in managing research and innovation projects, but also has first-hand knowledge of Mobility2Grid’s structures, partners and areas of focus from her day-to-day work.
“Nina Weber is familiar with Mobility2Grid, its stakeholders and, above all, the question of how research can be translated into practical applications. It is precisely this experience that is particularly valuable to us and for the further development of the ringberlin model campus,” said Matthias Menger, Managing Director of KOIMO Development GmbH. “We want to create a place where insights from research and innovation can be put into practice and where new solutions can actually be tested. With her experience, Nina can play a decisive role in shaping this transfer.”
At KOIMO, Nina Weber, in her role as Senior Project Manager, will focus in particular on coordinating, expanding and further developing existing partnerships and the associated research and funding projects. She will also be responsible for aspects of communications. Another key focus is building the ecosystem and further developing the community centred around the ringberlin model campus.
Commenting on her new role, Weber says: “Mobility2Grid demonstrates just how much can be achieved when the academic and business worlds work together on concrete solutions. At KOIMO, I can now apply this experience directly to the development of a real-world location. I am particularly keen to drive forward the transfer of knowledge and innovation into practical application and to bring the right stakeholders together to achieve this.”
Nina Weber has been working in strategic communications for more than 20 years. Her work focuses on science marketing and strategy development. As well as her role at Mobility2Grid, she was a co-founder and managing director of a strategy consultancy for local energy suppliers.
