The Bremen-based second-hand concept FLOMIO is expanding into Bremerhaven, thereby opening its third ‘flea market supermarket’. To this end, Flomio Holding GmbH has leased around 1,700 m² of retail space in the Hanse-Carré at Bürgermeister-Smidt-Straße 10. The lease begins on 1 November 2026. The landlord is a company based in Luxembourg. Robert C. Spies Gewerbe & Investment GmbH & Co. KG provided advisory and brokerage services for the lease. The opening is scheduled for mid-November 2026.
With its new branch in Bremerhaven, FLOMIO is continuing its expansion in northern Germany. The business model is based on renting out retail shelving to private individuals who sell second-hand and homemade products. The operator handles both sales and billing. The company has had a presence in Bremen city centre since 2025, with around 1,500 m² of retail space, followed in 2026 by the opening of a further site in the Werder Karree in Habenhausen, covering around 1,650 m².
In Bremerhaven, the concept is complemented by an integrated café area and play facilities for children. In addition, events are planned to enhance the quality of the visitor experience and help revitalise the town centre.
“This deal demonstrates how former large-scale retail spaces can be brought back into use through new retail concepts. Sustainable concepts are increasingly evolving from a trend into an integral part of the high-street retail sector,” says Susanne Maaß-Ebner, Head of Retail Lettings at Robert C. Spies.
