International Campus closes €313 million portfolio financing

The International Campus Group (IC), one of the leading investors, developers, portfolio holders and operators in the field of student housing and urban living concepts, has successfully completed portfolio financing of around 313 million euros. The loan secures the financing of seven properties from the portfolio of the brand “The FIZZ” (student housing) and two properties of the brand “HAVENS LIVING” (apartments for professionals).

The financing partners are BNP Paribas and Société Générale. The financing has an initial term of two years with three extension options for a further year each.

International Campus was advised on the transaction by Gibson Dunn, Greenberg Traurig and Stibbe Advocats. Other companies involved were EY (Tax), CBRE (Valuation & Technical Due Diligence) and Marsh McLennan (Insurance Due Diligence).

“Together with our financing partners, we were able to set a milestone in a challenging environment. The completed refinancing offers us flexibility and planning security for further portfolio development,” says Patrick Hanisch, CFO of the International Campus Group. “This strengthens our position as a long-term portfolio holder and operator of high-quality housing for students and young professionals.”

“With a successful growth strategy, International Campus Group has established itself as a leading player in the stationery market in Germany and Europe. We are pleased to further support their strategy with this financing,” said the head of Société Générale.

“We are pleased to act as a financing partner of the International Campus Group and to support its ambitions in the student housing market throughout Germany,” says the manager at BNP Paribas.
