The Cologne-based PropTech company aedifion has published its new white paper “Securing the Future, Preserving Values – How Companies Are Making Digital Transformation in the Building Stock a Strategic Success Factor”. The document shows how institutional owners, investors and asset managers can use digital technologies in a targeted manner to make their real estate portfolios more sustainable, efficient and resilient in the face of rising energy prices, stricter ESG requirements and new regulatory requirements. Efficiency gains through digitization are no longer an optional advantage, but a decisive lever for profitability, sustainability and regulatory certainty.
Digitalization as the foundation for sustainable building performance
The white paper examines digital building transformation from three perspectives: WHY – why it is indispensable, WHAT – what technological prerequisites it encompasses, and HOW – how it is already being successfully implemented in practice. In it, aedifion first systematizes the central technological fields of action of digital building intelligence: from IoT connection and data availability to cloud architectures and AI-supported building operation. At the heart of this is an integrated digital building ecosystem in which real-time data and advanced technologies work seamlessly together via a central cloud platform.
Interdisciplinary expertise combined
The white paper was created in cooperation with the partners Deepki, Drees & Sommer, Green Fusion, ROM Facility Solutions, gefma Deutscher Verband für Facility Management e.V., and PHOENIX CONTACT. The companies’ perspectives expand the topic area to include practical insights into the areas of sustainability, operational efficiency of existing properties, digital facility management as well as energy optimization and flexibilization in the future energy system.
Dr.-Ing. Johannes Fütterer, CEO of aedifion GmbH: “In our white paper, we show together with leading partners that the digitization of the real estate portfolio is a decisive lever for sustainable, high-yield and value-stable properties. Our goal is to provide owners, investors and asset managers with both strategic orientation and technological insights into a highly relevant field of action that can already be realized today.”
