"Energy Charts" Data Platform Launches Price Simulator

Fraunhofer ISE is launching a price simulator on Energy-Charts.info that uses real bids from the day-ahead auction and includes additional battery storage systems. The tool shows prices, charge/discharge capacity and fill levels to the nearest quarter of an hour. Available from 2025, updated daily.

152 Solar Records Measured in 40 Years: Fraunhofer ISE's CalLab Celebrates Anniversary

Fraunhofer ISE is celebrating 40 years of CalLab: Since 1986/1991, the laboratory has been calibrating solar cells and PV modules and has confirmed 152 efficiency records. Recently, a module was measured at 34.4% and a quadruple cell at 47.6%. Independent measurements ensure fair comparisons.

More Energy at the Same Weight: Fraunhofer ISE Optimizes Battery Cells

Fraunhofer ISE and its partners achieve 10–15% higher energy density with the same cell weight. This is made possible by more than tripled electrode coating up to 800 μm and fewer current collectors. The PFAS- and solvent-free concept has been validated in Li-, Na- and Zn-ion cells.
