Early cooperation for a sustainable district in Berlin Karow

Periscope Development Signs Agreement with Laborgh Investment

Two companies from the portfolio of an institutional mandate managed by Periskop Development have signed a cooperation agreement with Berlin-based Laborgh Investment GmbH. The aim is to counteract the housing shortage in the metropolitan region with early, cooperative cooperation.

A modern, sustainable quarter is planned in the Pankow district of Karow with social infrastructure (including a daycare center), which fits sensitively into the existing development in terms of urban development. A special focus is on the significant improvement of public transport connections: In particular, the planned infrastructure around the future Karower Kreuz tower station will significantly strengthen the connection to Berlin’s city centre and the surrounding area of Brandenburg. In addition, pedestrian- and cycling-friendly development as well as short distances are the focus of the planning.

“We deliberately rely on early, partnership-based cooperation – because this is where speed is created,” says Dr. Simon Kempf, Managing Director of Periskop Development GmbH. “Our goal is a sustainable district that fits into the existing environment and benefits from significantly improved public transport connections.”

“As an experienced project developer, we contribute our expertise in the development of mixed districts and in the strategic repositioning of complex locations,” says Florian Lanz, Managing Director of Laborgh Investment GmbH. “In Karow in particular, we see the opportunity to combine housing, social infrastructure and new mobility services to create a sustainable and future-proof district.”

The area “Straße 52” (“An der Laake”) covers around 103,810 square meters and borders the course of the Laake stream in the south. The property “Straße 33” in Karow Süd measures around 70,514 square meters. Both locations are suitable for a green, resource-saving district with the district’s own social infrastructure and good public transport connections.

The capital employed comes mainly from German pension funds, pension funds and insurance companies and thus serves to provide for the retirement of many employees.
