GARBE is expanding its collaboration with family offices, private banks and entrepreneurial families. With the newly established GARBE Private Capital AG in Zurich, the owner-managed property and infrastructure company is creating a central point of contact for joint investments. The focus is on club deals, co-investments, joint ventures and individually structured investments, into which GARBE’s shareholder families also contribute their own capital. Peter Paschke took over as Managing Director on 1 October 2026; he is also a member of the Board of Directors.
GARBE is one of Europe’s leading owner-managed property and infrastructure companies, holds leading positions in several of its market segments and manages assets worth more than 15 billion euros. For many years, the company has been investing and managing capital on behalf of institutional investors and collaborating with leading international private equity firms. Through GARBE Private Capital, family offices and private banks are gaining increased access to the investment opportunities, network and operational expertise offered by this platform.
The investment portfolio follows the ‘Sheds, Beds & Infrastructure’ strategy and comprises logistics and industrial property, food retail property, residential property, hotels, data centres and infrastructure. GARBE combines the selection and structuring of investments with its own project development and management expertise. With 23 offices in 16 countries and a presence in Europe, the USA and the Middle East, the company has international reach and its own local teams. These teams support the investments across the entire value chain – from acquisition through to development and long-term management.
“Family offices and private banks value direct access to investments, transparent structures and a partner who takes responsibility for implementation,” says Peter Paschke, Managing Director of GARBE Private Capital. “We can tailor investments to our partners’ objectives, drawing on the specialist teams across the entire GARBE Group. In this way, we combine personalised support and flexible structures with the experience and execution capabilities of an established institutional investment partner.”
The personal investment by GARBE’s shareholder families is a key element of this approach. It combines the investment partners’ capital with the owners’ entrepreneurial commitment. GARBE also contributes access to projects and transactions, as well as the expertise required for their structuring, development and management.
Christopher Garbe, managing partner at GARBE, says: “We are a family business ourselves and know that trust is built through personal relationships, shared interests and reliable work. With GARBE Private Capital, we combine this entrepreneurial approach with our many years of experience in working with institutional investors and international private equity firms. We invest our own capital alongside our partners, whilst also contributing our teams, our market knowledge and our operational responsibility. This is what we mean by ‘investments from family to family’.”
Peter Paschke has more than 14 years’ experience in private markets and investor relations, with a focus on family offices, entrepreneurial families and private banks. Most recently, he worked for a single-family office in Zug, Switzerland, specialising in real estate. Prior to that, he worked at Pangaea Life Capital Partners and at the New York-based hedge fund manager Muirfield Capital, where he was jointly responsible for the German business. Paschke is also a co-founder of Off Record, a private network for family offices, entrepreneurs and decision-makers in Switzerland.
