JUWI GmbH of Wörrstadt and Pacifico Energy Partners GmbH have today announced the transaction relating to the Gyhum wind farm. The wind farm, with a total capacity of 24 megawatts, is being transferred to the Energy Invest Mittelhessen 1 fund, an investment fund managed by Union Investment. Pacifico Energy Partners GmbH acted as adviser to the fund on the acquisition of the wind farm. The parties to the transaction have agreed not to disclose the investment volume.

The wind farm, comprising four Vestas V162 wind turbines, is currently being constructed by JUWI at the Gyhum-Hesedorf site in the district of Rotenburg (Wümme) in Lower Saxony. The hub height of the wind turbines is 169 metres and the rotor diameter is 162 metres. The wind farm is expected to come on stream at the beginning of 2027.

“With Gyhum, we are once again demonstrating that we can efficiently and reliably deliver wind energy projects from initial planning through to implementation, all under one roof,” says JUWI CEO Jost Backhaus. “At the same time, the Gyhum wind farm is further proof of our strong market position in Lower Saxony.”

In future, the four wind turbines will feed just under 73 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of climate-friendly electricity into the grid each year. This amount of energy covers the annual electricity needs of around 25,000 households and equates to a saving of 55,300 tonnes of CO₂ compared with electricity generation at a conventional power station.

“In JUWI, we have a pragmatic partner that embodies the energy transition and has it in its DNA. This is evident in our open collaboration and our shared commitment to finding solutions and driving projects forward. We are delighted to have supported the acquisition of the Gyhum wind farm for the Energy Invest Mittelhessen 1 fund. In doing so, we have made a further contribution to the expansion of renewable energy in Germany,” says Ulf Oesterlin, Managing Director of Pacifico Energy Partners.

An additional wind turbine of the same design was taken over by a local consortium of operators.
