The Frankfurt construction project “COSMO – Offices on the Stock Exchange” of LBBW Immobilien has reached a decisive milestone around eight months after the start of the first construction work: The structural dismantling is in the final phase, so that building construction can begin soon. A letting success can also be recorded: LBBW is moving into the office building at Schillerstraße 16, which is partly a listed building, as an anchor tenant. Among other things, it is consolidating the Frankfurt Wealth and Asset Management divisions, which were previously located at Schillerstraße 27 and Taunusanlage 1, at one location and creating potential for future growth at the location.
“By revitalizing this location, we are doing a bit of urban repair – and in doing so we are linking history with the future,” says Marco Knopp, spokesman for the management of LBBW Immobilien. “COSMO inspires from the outside with a historic façade and from the inside with ultra-modern space in a prime Frankfurt city centre location.”
The LBBW Group will lease around 1,800 m² spread over three floors in COSMO. There are already several interested parties for the other areas, but final leases have not yet been signed.
The centrally located property, which mainly dates back to the Wilhelminian period, which in the past served as a household goods store for the Lorey family of traders, is scheduled to be ready for occupancy in mid-2027 after the new development. The design for COSMO was penned by architect Christoph Mäckler of Mäckler Architekten in Frankfurt.
The seven-storey property will comprise a total lettable area of approx. 4,900 m². In addition to around 4,000 m² for offices, COSMO also has almost 700 m² for retail and gastronomy and around 200 m² for storage facilities. Future users will also have 70 bicycle parking spaces at their disposal, some of which also have e-charging stations. LBBW Immobilien is aiming for DGNB Gold building certification for COSMO.
