ABG Real Estate Group has been entrusted with the asset management of another landmark property. This is the listed Taschenbergpalais in Dresden with around 26,000 sqm of rental space. The company is thus further expanding its business area of investment and asset management services for institutional clients.
The Taschenbergpalais is a baroque building from the 18th century, which was rebuilt true to the original after its destruction in the Second World War after the fall of the Berlin Wall and converted into a five-star grand hotel in 1995. Since then, it has been operated by Kempinski and offers 211 rooms and suites as well as spacious event and spa areas. It also houses the well-known restaurant “Kastenmeiers”.
In addition to the Grand Hotel, seven corresponding third-party spaces are leased to exclusive gastronomy and retail concepts such as Juwelier Leicht, Paulaner and Sophienkeller. After extensive renovation, the house was reopened in 2024.
With its location between the Semperoper, Zwinger and Frauenkirche, it is considered a prime landmark property in the German hotel market. The owner is an institutional investor.
