Market entry in Berlin: Self-storage provider storemore acquires property in Berlin-Spandau via Aengevelt

Aengevelt Immobilien brokers the sale of a plot of land on Brunsbütteler Damm in Berlin-Spandau to the self-storage provider storemore, which is planning to build a modern self-storage facility here to expand its network of locations to Berlin. The building permit for the construction of a self-storage facility with approx. 7,000 m² GFA storage space has just been granted, so that implementation can start soon.

Mathias Ihle, Managing Director of storemore, comments: “With its location in an industrial park, the property brokered by Aengevelt is ideally suited for the realisation of a self-storage facility and thus represents a very good entry into the Berlin market, where we want to expand strongly. With the building permit that has now been granted, it is possible to realize and open the new location by the fourth quarter of 2026.”

“We are pleased to be able to support storemore’s expansion strategy with this agreement and thus also make a contribution to strengthening Spandau as a business location,” adds Marc Retzlaff from the Aengevelt branch in Berlin.

“On the other hand, we advised the seller comprehensively. Based on our location analysis with regard to the existing range of self-storage facilities in Spandau and an increasing demand in this segment, it was advisable to address this user group in a targeted manner – with success,” explains Chiara Aengevelt, Managing Partner of Aengevelt Immobilien, and continues: “The sale proves that self-storage can be an attractive usage option for properties that are often difficult to reuse.”
