The Westbridge Group (Westbridge), one of the leading energy and sustainability consultants for real estate clients in Europe, has successfully put out a new tender for the energy supply of its entire real estate portfolio on behalf of GEWOBAU Wohnungsgenossenschaft Essen eG (GEWOBAU). The supply concept supplies around 5,500 residential units, which will benefit from a stable and long-term secure energy supply in the future.
As part of a nationwide competition, the offers of different energy suppliers were evaluated and compared with each other in terms of energy efficiency. The contract was awarded to Stadtwerke Essen AG, which submitted the most economically attractive overall offer for both natural gas and electricity. In total, the new supply comprises around 24 gigawatt hours of natural gas and around 1 gigawatt hour of electricity per year – and thus ensures the long-term and reliable energy supply of the portfolio.
“The current market situation requires a precise analysis of all available procurement options. With Stadtwerke Essen, a provider has prevailed that offers a very good price-performance ratio and at the same time ensures long-term security of supply,” says Rüdiger Salzmann, Managing Director at Westbridge. “For GEWOBAU, we were able to implement a model that creates stability and reliably secures the energy supply for several years.”
GEWOBAU is also satisfied with the result of the tender: “Profitability and security of supply for our members are our top priorities. The tender conducted by Westbridge provided us with a very well-founded basis for decision-making,” says Dr. Eike Klingsch, Technical Director of GEWOBAU Essen eG. “With Stadtwerke Essen, we have found a strong regional partner with a convincing range of services.”
