Qualitas Energy, a leading global investment and management platform with a focus on the financing and development of renewable energies, energy transition and sustainable infrastructure, is starting construction work on the repowering of the Ingstetten wind farm in Baden-Württemberg.
The wind farm is located in the municipality of Ingstetten in the state of Baden-Württemberg, around 35 kilometres southwest of Ulm. As part of the repowering project, five existing NEG Micon NM 48 wind turbines, including their foundations, will be completely dismantled. In addition, the associated crane parking areas and access roads will be removed. The existing turbines will be replaced by six modern Enercon E-175 wind turbines, each with an installed capacity of 7 MW. This gives the wind farm a total capacity of 42 MW.
The symbolic groundbreaking ceremony on 29 July brought together representatives from politics, administration, business and the municipality. Among the participants were Michael Joukov, member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg, Josef Schmid on behalf of the mayor of Schelklingen, Dieter Schmucker, mayor of Ingstetten, as well as representatives of the Alb-Donau-Kreis district office. Also on site were the project team of Qualitas Energy and the construction company Stricker. The broad regional support shows the importance of the project for the local energy transition and a sustainable energy supply in Baden-Württemberg.

“By replacing older turbines with modern and more powerful turbine technologies, we are significantly increasing efficiency, making better use of existing wind resources, strengthening the regional energy supply and supporting the energy transition,” adds Christopher Koller, Qualitas Energy project manager for the Ingstetten wind farm.
The commissioning of all six plants is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2027. After completion, the wind farm is expected to generate enough renewable electricity to supply around 28,000 households annually.
