Periskop Development announces the sale of a portion of the “Königspark” project in Königs Wusterhausen (Brandenburg). The approximately 34,500 m² plot of land was sold to the Federal Institute for Real Estate (BImA), which is planning an operational training center for customs there. The project is part of a nationwide initiative to set up identical training centres at eleven locations in Germany.
Periskop Development is developing the approximately 56-hectare “Königspark” site southeast of Berlin into a future-oriented, urban mixed-use quarter on behalf of the owners. The customs office will be located under current building law in a sub-area of the “productive quarter”.
Dr. Simon Kempf, Managing Director of Periskop Development: “The settlement of customs is an important milestone for the district. It forms the initial spark for the entire project.”
Petra Müller, Head of Development at Periskop Development, emphasizes:
“We would like to thank the citizens, local politicians and the city administration for their committed and constructive cooperation. Special thanks also go to Mayor Michaela Wiezorek, who has accompanied the project from the beginning with openness and support. With the sale that has now taken place, we are very pleased to make a visible contribution to the positive development in Königs Wusterhausen and to give something back to the citizens.”
Operational training centre for the General Customs Directorate in timber hybrid construction
The BImA is building a modern operations and training centre for customs on the site for the Berlin-Brandenburg region. An operational training building, an indoor shooting range and a two-field sports hall will be built, which will offer optimal training conditions for customs employees. In a nationwide construction programme, BImA is currently implementing such centres at eleven locations in timber hybrid construction and with a focus on sustainability and climate protection.
Königspark Wusterhausen: Growth location southeast of Berlin
The project area is located in the so-called “Boom Corridor Southeast” – one of the most dynamic development regions in the Berlin area. The proximity to BER Airport, the Tesla plant in Grünheide and science and technology locations in southern Berlin makes Königs Wusterhausen a promising location. The excellent transport connections – both via the A10 motorway and the B179 federal highway as well as through the connection to the S-Bahn and regional rail network – create optimal conditions for sustainable development.
The sale was legally supported by the law firm lindenpartners.
