Recertification confirms the sustainability performance of the office location at Helfmann-Park
Aroundtown has achieved BREEAM recertification with an “Excellent” rating for the Trevista office complex in Eschborn. Compared with the initial certification, which received a “Good” rating, the current result represents a significant improvement. The recertification underlines the property’s sustainability credentials and confirms the consistent integration of relevant sustainability aspects into building operations.
Trevista is located at Helfmann-Park 8-10 in Eschborn and offers flexible office space suitable for a range of workplace concepts. Centrally located in the Rhine-Main region, the property benefits from convenient access to the A66 and A5 motorways. Frankfurt Airport and Frankfurt city center can also be reached quickly. Eschborn Süd S-Bahn station is around one kilometer away and is served by the S3 and S4 lines every 15 minutes. The underground car park provides around 400 parking spaces as well as 24 charging points for electric vehicles. The on-site café includes an ATworldlocation, while the building also features a canteen with a terrace. Numerous rooftop terraces, together with additional restaurants and shopping options in the immediate vicinity, complement the range of amenities.
In addition to its convenient location, the property stands out for its comprehensive sustainability performance and a wide range of specific measures implemented in day-to-day building operations. Trevista’s final energy consumption is around 39 percent below the local benchmark, while a rooftop photovoltaic system generates renewable electricity on site. Water-efficient fittings help reduce drinking water consumption, while the central Smartvatten water monitoring system digitally tracks consumption and enables the early detection of potential leaks. Further areas of focus include accessibility, a reuse and recycling concept, and the forward-looking consideration of climate-related impacts in flood assessments. Around 44 percent of the site is landscaped as green space, complemented by extensive green roofing. Overall, the building performs particularly strongly in the areas of health and wellbeing, energy efficiency, resilience, and land use and ecology, supporting a healthy working environment alongside energy-efficient building operations. Trevista has also been awarded WiredScore Gold for its digital infrastructure.
“Following its initial ‘Good’ certification, Trevista has now achieved an ‘Excellent’ rating. The solid foundation established at the time gave us the basis to systematically realize the property’s potential. The result confirms our approach of consistently considering sustainability in all its dimensions across our existing portfolio. For us, the certification also provides a valuable benchmark that helps guide the continuous development of our properties,” says Marlene Balonier, BREEAM Expert at Aroundtown.
“Existing buildings have considerable potential, as Trevista clearly demonstrates. Through targeted improvements to the property’s sustainability performance, Aroundtown has created the basis for achieving an ‘Excellent’ rating. The recertification now provides clear evidence of this progress,” says Alexander Rüb, Head of the National BREEAM D-A-CH System Representation at TÜV SÜD.
The project was supported by Rafael Morales, auditor at IBD sustain.

Since 1990, BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) has been one of the leading international certification systems for assessing the sustainability of real estate. Its holistic approach enables buildings worldwide to be compared against defined sustainability objectives. BREEAM assesses properties across categories including management, health and wellbeing, energy, transport, water, materials, waste, land use and ecology, and pollution. The system defines clear sustainability standards and provides a consistent international benchmark that can be applied to existing buildings as well as new construction and refurbishment projects.
BREEAM supports the assessment of a building’s current sustainability performance as well as its continuous improvement through a recurring recertification process. Thanks to its international relevance and broad applicability, BREEAM certification can contribute to user satisfaction and the long-term preservation of property value, creating clear benefits for owners, tenants and sustainability objectives. More than 70 percent of the commercial properties in Aroundtown’s portfolio are already BREEAM-certified. Further information: https://breeam.com/
