MLK Holzweiler Wind Farm Connected to the Grid: NRW Environment Minister Krischer Attends Commissioning Ceremony

On 20 October 2026, the MLK Group commissioned the Erkelenz-Holzweiler wind farm. Two Vestas V172-7.2 MW turbines (totalling 14.4 MW) are forecast to generate 37 million kWh of electricity per year. NRW Environment Minister Oliver Krischer attended the commissioning ceremony.

Opening of the repowered Scheid wind farm: MLK Group and eegon celebrate together with local citizens

MLK Group and the eegon Eifel Energy Cooperative opened the repowered Scheid wind farm in the Volcanic Eifel region on 10 June. Two Nordex N163 turbines in the 7 MW class are connected to the grid, with an output of 14 MW. The focus is on citizen participation; further expansion is planned.

The MLK Group is expanding financial citizen participation in wind energy projects. Subordinated loans offer a fixed interest rate, but carry the risk of total loss; first for residents, at the same time nationwide via a digital platform with current offers in Korschenbroich and Kückhoven.
