ELK TECH, a leading provider of sustainable, serial construction solutions, is currently realizing a modern day care facility for senior citizens on approx. 300 m² in Volkach (Bavaria) for the Caritas Association of the District of Kitzingen in innovative modular construction. In the morning, the floor slab was still empty, but by noon the whole building was already in place: The assembly of the six building sections took place within half a day at the end of November 2025. The new day center will open its doors as early as January 2026.
The need for places in senior day care is great. In the future, the facility will offer older people a place for encounters, social exchange and varied leisure activities. In addition to spacious recreation areas and a therapy room, a spacious terrace and raised beds for urban gardening complete the offer. Particular attention was paid to accessibility and a high quality of stay.
The day care centre for senior citizens was planned by the Volkach-based architectural firm “tobias thum architekt” and combines modern architecture with innovative construction. The wooden façade blends the building attractively into the townscape. Thanks to the prefabricated modular construction, the construction time could be significantly shortened and the sustainable structure could be realized in record time.
As an innovative partner in modular construction, ELK TECH will continue to expand its commitment in Germany in the future. The company already has other projects in modular construction in the implementation phase.
“Due to demographic change, the social infrastructure in Germany must be expanded not only quantitatively, but also as quickly as possible,” explains Lukas Schermann, Managing Director of ELK TECH MODULAR. “Our highly developed modular design combines economic advantages with impressive speed. This allows us to construct high-quality buildings of all asset classes at a top price-performance ratio.”
