HAMBURG TEAM and Goldbeck, a construction and services company operating throughout Europe, celebrated the laying of the foundation stone for construction site 5 "LEO & LEA" in the Löwitz Quartier yesterday in Leipzig. In the presence of Thomas Dienberg, Mayor for Urban Development and Construction, representatives of the city and other project participants, the start of the realisation of the first residential building site within the entire district development was acknowledged.
With the Löwitz Quartier, a new district is being created in Leipzig in a central location with a total of around 550 residential units. The approx. 7,200 m² construction site 5 "LEO & LEA" is centrally located on the future district square. A total of 179 apartments of different types and an underground car park with 81 parking spaces are being built there on two plots. On one of the plots of land it has acquired itself, the project development division of the HAMBURG TEAM Group (HTP) is building 49 condominiums. On the other site, HAMBURG TEAM Investment Management (HTIM) is building 130 rental apartments for a special fund in which several company pension schemes based in northern Germany are invested.
Of these, 70 units are publicly funded by the city of Leipzig and the Free State of Saxony. These are supplemented by three commercial spaces on the ground floor with a total of around 400 m². In addition, the construction site includes outdoor facilities and a pocket park.
Construction of construction site 5 started in October 2025. The shell construction began in April 2026 and is scheduled for completion in January 2027. The project will be implemented through systematised construction with prefabricated elements and will be implemented in accordance with the KfW 40-QNG energy standard. The project thus combines efficient construction with high energy requirements. GOLDBECK Nordost GmbH is responsible for the planning and execution of the construction project as the general contractor.
