FOX Living, a subsidiary of FOX Real Estate, has initiated the implementation of a new residential project in Braunschweig-Nord. In the Nordanger development area, a total of 189 modern apartments (Purpose Built Student Accommodation – PBSA) with a gross floor area of around 6,000 square meters are being built at Lampadiusring 8. The project is scheduled for completion by September 2027.
The housing offer is aimed in particular at national and international students, trainees and young professionals. Compact, high-quality apartments with combined living and sleeping areas, their own kitchen and bathrooms will be built. The concept will be complemented by attractive common areas that are intended to promote exchange among residents. In addition, an underground car park and numerous bicycle parking spaces will be built.
Braunschweig is one of Germany's leading technology and research locations and impresses with a high student density, a growing proportion of international students and stable economic development. The location of the project offers ideal conditions for the target group: The Technical University of Braunschweig is within walking distance, while at the same time good public transport connections and short distances to shopping facilities ensure a high quality of living.
"With the implementation of the project in Braunschweig, we are starting the concrete implementation of another project for urgently needed housing for young people. At the same time, Braunschweig is an important building block in the development of our PBSA portfolio at selected German university locations. We want to transfer our strategy step by step into concrete projects and thus create a growing range of services for students, trainees and young professionals," says Mathias Grüning, Managing Director of FOX Living.
Germany is one of the largest higher education markets in Europe and at the same time has a structural shortage of modern PBSA offerings. FOX Living addresses this supply gap with a scalable platform approach at selected university locations The company is pursuing the development of a Germany-wide PBSA platform with the goal of realizing up to 1,000 apartments annually. The project in Braunschweig is a concrete step in the implementation of this strategy. Further projects are already in preparation. For example, land in Osnabrück and Hanover has already been acquired.
