HIH Real Estate (HIH) is strengthening its asset management team with Markus Diers, who has returned to the company on 1 April 2026. As Managing Director of Asset Management, he will take over the management of the business unit together with Carolin Dose and Frank Kindermann. The focus is on the strategic development of value-oriented asset management in order to further drive the positive performance of the real estate portfolios under management. The Asset Management division currently comprises a team of 130 employees who manage approximately 15 billion assets under management. These include around 400 properties in twelve countries in Europe.
Markus Diers has more than 20 years of experience in asset management with a focus on retail and international retail real estate. Most recently, he was Head of Asset Management Retail at Union Investment Real Estate. Previously, he was Managing Director Asset Management at Redos Real Estate, where he was responsible for an extensive portfolio. Diers already held various management positions at HIH from 2016 to 2021, including as Head of Asset Management Retail. In his new role, he will be responsible for the residential, logistics and retail asset classes and will also take on management tasks in the areas of governance, service provider management and human resources.
Carolin Dose has been with HIH Real Estate for almost 20 years and has been Managing Director in Asset Management since 2023. She heads the Office division and is responsible for process management and the interfaces to fund management. Frank Kindermann, Managing Director since 2007, is responsible for International Asset Management, Technical Asset Management/Construction Project Management, Facility Manager Management and Leasing, among other things.
Carolin Dose explains the new management structure: “With Markus Diers, we are gaining back a very experienced colleague who knows our company and our structures very well. Successful asset management thrives on recognizing at an early stage which developments are affecting a property and deriving viable strategies from this. It is also crucial to take into account the needs of the users and to design the processes efficiently. Markus Diers brings exactly this expertise to the table and will provide important impetus.”
Management colleague Frank Kindermann says: “Markus Diers is an ideal addition to our management team. This will enable us to further optimise and specialise our asset management and consistently drive forward the strategic development of our portfolios.”
Markus Diers says about his new role: “I am very pleased to return to HIH and to actively develop Asset Management together with the team. My focus is on the implementation of sustainable usage concepts as well as on close and cooperative cooperation with our investors and tenants in a spirit of partnership.”
