Goldbeck Facility Services, part of the construction and services company Goldbeck, which operates throughout Europe, has been mandated by the public sector with a comprehensive contract as part of a Europe-wide tender: The experts from the Solar & Energy business unit of Goldbeck Facility Services are examining a total of 232 federal properties in Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland for their photovoltaic retrofitting capability and economic viability. They then retrofit the suitable properties with photovoltaics and battery storage systems. The contract is scheduled to run for five years.
Following the test phase, the properties classified as suitable for this purpose will be successively equipped with photovoltaic systems. In advance, necessary upgrading measures will be carried out on the properties, if these are necessary for the realization of the photovoltaic system, such as roof renovations. In addition, Goldbeck Facility Services received a 15-year maintenance contract for the installed systems, which can then be extended twice by five years each.
Wide range of public real estate
The commissioned portfolio includes a wide range of public real estate. These include sports facilities, office and administrative buildings, warehouses, parking spaces as well as care and educational facilities. The properties date from very different years of construction and some are listed as historical monuments. In total, the roof area to be analysed by Goldbeck amounts to around 200,000 square metres. Photovoltaic retrofitting is carried out in the form of rooftop photovoltaic systems, supplemented by energy storage systems if necessary. In the future, other properties can be included in the program and checked by Goldbeck Facility Services.
