Deal activity across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region declined during January to August 2026 compared to the same period in 2025, in line with the global trend. Subdued deal-making sentiment, ongoing macroeconomic volatility, and selective capital deployment continued to impact deal landscape. The total number of deals (comprising mergers & acquisitions (M&A), private equity and venture capital (VC)) announced in the APAC region recorded a year-on-year (YoY) fall of 8% during the first eight months of 2026, according to GlobalData, a leading intelligence and productivity platform.
