The Nordex Group has received an order for 56 MW in Austria from WEB Windenergie AG. The Nordex Group is supplying and installing eight N175/6.X turbines for the Auersthal RI repowering project in the Gänserndorf district of Lower Austria. The order also includes a premium service for 25 years.
The project marks an important milestone for the Nordex Group in Austria: the turbines in Auersthal will be the first N175/6.X turbines to be installed in the country. At the same time, with eight wind turbines, this is the largest single project that the Nordex Group has implemented in Austria to date.
Auersthal RI is being implemented as part of a repowering process. By replacing existing wind turbines with modern turbines of the latest generation, the efficiency of wind power generation at the site can be significantly increased. The N175/6.X of the Delta4000 platform each has an installed capacity of 7 MW. As a result, they enable high energy yields and optimal use of existing land, especially at inland locations. The turbines are scheduled to be commissioned in 2028.
"We are pleased not only to deepen the existing partnership with the municipality in Auersthal, but also to write a piece of W.E.B history together with Nordex. For us, this is the first time that we have built turbines of this size. Together with Nordex, we are demonstrating how much energy there is in the wind," says W.E.B Executive Board member Roman Prager.
"Auersthal RI is a milestone for the Nordex Group in Austria. With the first installation of our N175/6.X in the Austrian market, this order with WEB Windenergie AG underlines the high competitiveness of our technology in the repowering segment. Modern wind turbines such as the N175/6.X make an important contribution to making more efficient use of existing sites and further accelerating the expansion of renewable energies. We would like to thank W.E.B for the trust they have placed in us and for continuing our excellent partnership," says Karsten Brüggemann, Vice President Region Europe of the Nordex Group.
