This week, Peakside Capital Advisors celebrated the topping-out ceremony in the Burgbernheim industrial park together with general contractor Goldbeck, the mayor of Burgbernheim, Matthias Schwarz, the former district administrator of the district of Neustadt a. d. Aisch-Bad Windsheim, Helmut Weiß, and other invited guests. On the approximately 64,000 square metre site Im Grund 2 – 4, two sustainable, modern and flexibly configurable halls with areas of 11,000 square metres are being built and 16.000 Square meters. With the completion of the shell buildings and the assembly of the roof supports and façade elements, an important project milestone has now been reached. The buildings are scheduled to be ready for occupancy in mid-2026.

Boris Schran, Managing Partner at Peakside Capital Advisors, says: “The topping-out ceremony marks a significant step forward for our project. With it, we have reached a further stage in the creation of a contemporary, forward-looking logistics center in the western metropolitan region of Nuremberg. We are delighted to celebrate this moment together with all stakeholders and are proud to contribute to the economic development of the region.”

Claus Albrecht, branch manager of Goldbeck Südwest GmbH, adds: “We are implementing the project in a resource-saving and efficient way thanks to our systematized construction method. We continue to increase sustainability with innovative technology. To this end, we are installing photovoltaic systems on the roofs in the logistics area and installing heat pumps, among other things. For the new building, a sustainability certificate from the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) at gold level is being sought.” In the outdoor area, flower meadows, nesting aids and natural habitats are intended to strengthen the local ecosystem and offer a high quality of stay for employees.

During the excavation of the excavation pit, thousands of years old archaeological artifacts were found, which Peakside handed over to the Uffenheim local history and museum association. The recycling material generated during the demolition of the previous old hall on the site was processed, recycled and made donations to selected local associations possible. Furthermore, an existing long-distance water pipeline that ran through the construction site could be retained by relocating it using a complex process.

The machine and plant manufacturer ProLogTec GmbH, which was already a tenant in the former hall, has also concluded a long-term lease agreement for premises in the new property. Other tenants at the site so far are the BayWa Group, which specialises in agriculture, energy and construction, FOX Velution GmbH, a specialist in eco-efficient industrial solutions for particle foam processing, the IT and electronics mail-order company KabelScheune and the Initiative Streuobst Mittelfranken-West eG.

Burgbernheim is part of the economically strong metropolitan region of Nuremberg with around 3.5 million inhabitants. The site developed by Peakside is predestined for use as a logistics location due to its direct connection to the B470 and thus Nuremberg. Burgbernheim is also connected to Würzburg by the A7 or B13.
