The owner-managed Dr. Peters Group is taking over the investor management of nine funds of Deutsche Immobilien Leasing GmbH (DIL), a subsidiary of Deutsche Bank. The investment offers are three private equity funds and six funds invested in renewable energies. With the acquisition, the Dr. Peters Group is expanding the client base it manages by more than 10,000 private and semi-professional investors. At the same time, business in the renewable energies sector in particular, for which the Dr. Peters Group received an extension of its licence from BaFin at the beginning of last year, is growing.
Solar parks in southern Italy and wind turbines in Germany
The six DIL funds in the renewable energy sector are one solar and five wind power funds. The solar fund has already been invested in three solar parks in southern Italy for around 15 years, while the wind power funds have plants in various German states as an investment object – e.g. in Rhineland-Palatinate and Hesse. The three private equity funds were launched by KGAL and Deutsche Bank and invested in a large number of unlisted companies via various target funds – e.g. from the life science sector.
Positive experiences and advanced discussions on further acquisitions
About four years ago, the Dr. Peters Group took over funds from an external issuing house for the first time. This case concerned three aircraft holdings of Hannover Leasing. The experience gained in this area has been consistently positive so far – both for the Dr. Peters Group, but above all for the more than 5,000 fund investors, who have been able to benefit economically since the takeover from aircraft components sold, as well as from compensation payments and the extensions of leasing contracts. The takeover of investor management for nine further investments, which has now been successfully negotiated, strengthens the cooperation between the Dr. Peters Group and DIL, which have been cooperating in the field of A380 aircraft funds for many years.
