Westend Real Assets is taking over the Real Estate Investment Management (formerly HAL REIM) division of ABN AMRO. With the transaction, Westend Bank is entering the institutional real estate investment business. In doing so, it will use the established structures, personnel and existing mandates that will be transferred to the new company. In addition, the new ownership structure of Westend Real Assets opens up the opportunity to expand its specialised real estate and investment expertise in the long term and to further consolidate its position in the institutional market environment.
Westend Bank, headquartered in Frankfurt am Main, is 100 percent owned by the Hopp family. With its Beyond Banking model, it combines individual financing solutions with exclusive family office services for wealthy families, family offices, corporations and institutional investors. With Westend Real Assets, the existing platform will be further developed and institutional investors will be offered access to a wide range of real asset investment solutions.

The Westend Real Assets team has many years of proven experience in the field of institutional real estate investments with a focus on future-oriented asset classes and specialised investment strategies. These include food retail properties, outpatient healthcare properties and data centres. The Westend Real Assets team already serves more than thirty institutional investors in German-speaking countries and, as an asset manager, manages EUR 725 million in assets under management in a total of five special funds.
