The Mainz-based project developer wiwi consult travels to WindEnergy 2026 in Hamburg with a tailwind from the latest PV tender round and with a full project pipeline. In order to adapt to the changed framework conditions in the industry, wiwi consult will focus primarily on hybrid projects of wind, PV and battery storage (BESS) in the future.
In the most recent PV tender round of the Federal Network Agency in July, wiwi consult was awarded contracts for three projects with a total volume of 80 MW. This means that all projects with which the Mainz-based project developer entered the tender were awarded. This is equivalent to the highest-volume tender round in the company's 11-year history. PV projects with a total volume of 45 MW are already being implemented.
In addition, four wind energy projects with a total of 20 turbines are currently being implemented. They will be supplemented in the coming months by the start of construction of five more projects, so that nine projects with a total volume of 180 MW are expected to be implemented in parallel in 2027. Commissioning is to take place in three projects before the end of this year. "This full project pipeline is the result of our work over the past years. The implementation of nine projects in parallel presents us as a team with challenges that we are happy to accept and master together," says Michael Böhm, Managing Director of wiwi consult GmbH & Co. KG.
In addition to pure wind projects and PV/BESS projects, wiwi consult's range of services has recently been expanded to include the planning of stand-alone storage systems. Now the first projects in this area are also about to be implemented. For 2027, wiwi consult plans to build four stand-alone storage systems, each with a capacity of 10 MW and a capacity of 40 MWh, all of which have received feed-in commitments from the grid operators.
For future projects, wiwi consult consistently focuses on hybrid projects of wind, PV and battery storage. With this strategic orientation, wiwi consult wants to adapt to the changed market conditions and make itself independent of short-term political decisions. "Thanks to our many years of experience and our broad-based team, we see ourselves well equipped to plan our projects in a linked way in the future and thus be able to take into account the changes in the industry in the long term," says Michael Böhm. From now on, the inclusion of battery storage systems in the planning of wind and PV projects will become the standard.
