Robert C. Spies Immobilien GmbH & Co. KG, Oldenburg, has successfully brokered the sale of a centrally located residential and commercial building in Herrenpfad on Norderney. The buyer is a newly founded company from the circle of shareholders of the Gerdes + Landwehr Group, some of whose members are also owners of the 1884 Boutique Hotel on Norderney. The seller of the property is a private individual.

The historic building from 1890 includes four apartments on the upper floors as well as a large apartment, which will be converted into a shared apartment for employees. On the ground floor there are two commercial units, for which the establishment of a digital, autonomously operated gym is planned. In addition, the property impresses with its central location – in the middle of urban island life and in the immediate vicinity of gastronomic offerings and retail.

A special focus of the future use is the creation of employee apartments for employees of the 1884 Boutique Hotel. In view of the scarce living space for professionals from gastronomy and tourism on the island, the development of the property makes an important contribution to ensuring suitable employee accommodation.

“The property on Herrenpfad combines historic buildings with a future-oriented usage concept,” says Jan Schneider, Managing Director at Robert C. Spies in Oldenburg. “The central location and the planned development into employee apartments not only create urgently needed living space, but also strengthen the attractiveness of Norderney as a location in the long term.”

With around 6,000 inhabitants, Norderney is one of the most important tourist centres in East Frisia. The island offers an excellent infrastructure, a wide range of leisure activities, an adjacent UNESCO World Heritage Site and regular ferry connections to the mainland.
