The Hamburg-based consortium consisting of Quantum and HanseMerkur Grundvermögen has acquired the Holsten site from the Adler Group in cooperation with SAGA and Hamburger Sparkasse. Those involved are looking forward to the unique opportunity to transform this important area into a new urban and lively quarter in the heart of Altona. The Holsten site is now being realised quickly, pioneering and liveable, with parts of the historic building fabric being retained and integrated into the new quarter. In close coordination with the city and district of Altona, around 2,000 apartments for over 5,000 people are to be made available from 2030. Of these, about 50 percent of the residential units are to become subsidized apartments, student and trainee apartments and about 50 percent are to come onto the market in privately financed housing. The investment volume amounts to around one billion euros.
