Westbridge Advisory (Westbridge), one of the leading energy and sustainability consultants for real estate clients in Europe and a cooperation partner of VDIV Germany and the BVI Federal Association of Property Managers, has advised Dr.-Ing. Schmolke Immobilien GmbH (DSI) on the tender for metering services for part of its managed residential real estate portfolio. The aim of the tender was to review the existing contracts economically and to realise savings potential for owners and consumers.
In 2025, a portfolio with around 3,500 usage units was put out to tender on the market and comprehensively evaluated in terms of energy economics and commercial aspects. In the course of the new award, a saving of around 37 percent for consumers was achieved for the metering services compared to the previous initial situation.
“Especially in the case of large residential portfolios, it becomes clear how relevant a transparent market comparison of metering services is,” says Rüdiger Salzmann, Managing Director at Westbridge. “Through the structured tender, we were not only able to achieve an economically convincing result for DSI, but also create measurable added value for the tenants.”
