Swiss Life Asset Managers is expanding the portfolio of the Swiss Life ESG Health Care Germany V S.C.S., SICAV-SIF fund with the acquisition of a retirement home in Porta Westfalica. The energy-efficient new building in accordance with the KfW 40 standard makes a significant contribution to the fund’s ESG orientation and underlines the active presence of Swiss Life Asset Managers in the German healthcare segment.
Swiss Life Asset Managers has acquired the Barkhausen retirement home in Porta Westfalica, North Rhine-Westphalia, for the Swiss Life ESG Health Care Germany V S.C.S., SICAV-SIF fund. The seller is the Cureus Group.
The single-tenant property, which was completed in 2023, has more than 6000 square metres of rental space, which is divided into 112 places for inpatient care and short-term care, ten units for out-of-hospital intensive care and various service facilities, among other things. The property is characterized by high energy efficiency in accordance with the KfW 40 standard.
The property is fully let to the Compassio Group, one of the largest private nursing home operators in Germany. A long-term lease ensures the sustainable use of the property.

The notarization and takeover of the new building is another example of the active investment strategy that Swiss Life Asset Managers is pursuing in the healthcare segment, which is geared towards the long term and strong partnerships, and which focuses on inpatient care facilities, assisted living and medical centers, among other things.
