The world’s leading biopharmaceutical company Takeda is relocating its Berlin location – the sales headquarters for the German market – to FÜRST Berlin, the new urban quarter on Kurfürstendamm. With the new location, Takeda is strengthening its cooperation, innovative strength and presence in Berlin as a healthcare location. The move-in is planned for the end of 2027.
“Berlin offers a unique environment for exchange with key players in the healthcare sector. With our new location at FÜRST Berlin on Kurfürstendamm, we are consciously focusing on proximity to relevant partners from politics, science and care – an important basis for further strengthening cooperation and driving innovation. At the same time, we create a modern working environment that specifically supports different ways of working – from concentrated individual work to cross-departmental collaboration. In this way, we combine our global perspective with strong local roots,” says Guillaume Joachim, CFO and Managing Director of Takeda Pharma Vertrieb GmbH & Co. KG in Germany.
“We are pleased to welcome Takeda, an internationally renowned tenant who is an excellent fit for FÜRST as a first-class business address in Berlin’s City West. This letting is further proof of the high international appeal of our quarter,” adds Josip Kardun, CEO of FÜRST. “With its mix of uses, flexible areas and efficiently usable floor plans, the FÜRST offers ideal conditions for modern working concepts. Tenants can look forward to high-quality office space with LEED Platinum certification, which sets new standards in terms of sustainability and combines modern working environments with responsible use of resources,” adds Ryan Beckwith, Chair of FÜRST.
With the lease to Takeda, around 40 percent of the total space in the project is occupied. Other tenants at the FÜRST include the premium apartment hotel A by Adina, the premium fitness club David Lloyd, RTL, REWE and the Theater Komödie am Kurfürstendamm.
The pharmaceutical company Takeda looks back on a 245-year company history. With around 2,300 employees in Germany, Takeda is one of Takeda’s largest national companies in Germany worldwide. In Germany, Takeda is committed to innovative healthcare and relies on close cooperation with partners from research, politics and care. The company focuses on research and innovative therapies in the areas of gastroenterological and inflammatory diseases, rare diseases, plasma-based therapies, oncology, neuroscience and vaccines.
The FÜRST project is an architectural landmark of Berlin’s City West. On a total area of around 106,000 m², a lively, sustainable urban quarter is being created on Kurfürstendamm with a unique mix of uses consisting of around 58,000 m² of office space, 14,200 m² of culture and leisure, retail and a wide range of gastronomic offerings. Around 8,500 m² of attractive terraces and green inner courtyards create a high quality of stay for tenants and visitors.
On the FÜRST side, the leasing process was coordinated by Dunman Capital and CELLS, with Taurecon as technical project coordinator and WBRE as commercial project coordinator. The rental was brokered by CBRE. The landlord was advised by Greenberg Traurig; the tenant was advised by LAMBSDORFF.
