CTP, Europe’s largest listed owner, developer and portfolio holder of logistics and industrial properties in terms of gross lettable area, has leased 1,800 square metres of warehouse space to the city of Hanau on a commercial site in Hanau. The municipal theatre company “Brothers Grimm Festival” will use the space in the future to store theatre props, stage sets and technical equipment. The lease is designed as an interim use and is part of the long-term development of the future CTPark Hanau on the 160,000 square metre site in Brown-Boveri-Straße. The existing buildings are to be demolished from the end of 2027 to make room for industrial, commercial and production-related uses.
With temporary use, existing areas are sensibly activated during the transition phase and local structures are supported at the same time. The cooperation with the city of Hanau underlines the partnership-based approach to site development.
The Hanau Brothers Grimm Festival is an annual theatre festival in Hanau, the birthplace of the famous fairy tale collectors Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm. Since 1985, the amphitheatre of Philippsruhe Castle has mainly been used for fairy tale plays, musicals and family-friendly productions based on the works of the Brothers Grimm. The festival is one of the most renowned open-air theatre events in Germany and attracts numerous visitors from the region and beyond every year.
“We are pleased to have found a pragmatic solution for the Brothers Grimm Festival and the city of Hanau with this interim lease. At the same time, the project shows how existing areas can be used sensibly even in transitional phases and integrated for regional development,” says Timo Hielscher, Managing Director at CTP Germany. “For us, the development of locations is always associated with the aspiration to create long-term added value for cities, companies and regions. The cooperation with the city of Hanau was very constructive from the very beginning.”
The future CTPark Hanau is being built in an established commercial location at Brown-Boveri-Straße 30 in the west of the city of Hanau in the eastern Rhine-Main area. The immediate environment is commercial with industrial, logistics and service companies and thus offers ideal conditions for manufacturing and logistics-related uses. The location is optimally connected to the regional and national transport network via the nearby A45 and A66 motorways. The Frankfurt Rhine-Main metropolitan region with Frankfurt am Main Airport can be reached in a short drive and underlines the strategic importance of the location for national and international companies. Hanau’s main train station and the city centre can be reached in a few minutes. The connection to local public transport is also guaranteed.
