KINGSTONE Real Estate has acquired a residential project in Wuppertal for the “KINGSTONE Affordable Housing Germany” fund. The seller is the project developer “TEAMRHEINRUHR”. The project comprises two apartment buildings with a total of 78 residential units on around 6,100 square metres of living space. 52 apartments are publicly subsidized, the other units are designed to be suitable for senior citizens. The total area of the ensemble is about 7,000 square meters. A daycare center and a smaller area intended as a café are also part of the development. Construction started in July 2026. The investment includes public loans in conjunction with repayment discounts from NRW. BANK. The purchase price was not disclosed.
With this acquisition, KINGSTONE Real Estate is further expanding the portfolio of its “KINGSTONE Affordable Housing Germany” fund, which invests specifically in residential projects with long-term affordable rental structures.
“With the project in Wuppertal, we are securing a development that combines affordable housing with social infrastructure. The high proportion of subsidized apartments fits perfectly with the strategy of our fund ‘KINGSTONE Affordable Housing Germany’ and complements our portfolio in a meaningful way,” says Dr. Tim Schomberg, CEO & Co-Founder of KINGSTONE Real Estate.
Sustainable neighbourhood development
The project is part of the “Heubruch” district in the Barmen district of Wuppertal. Here, sustainable multi-family houses, terraced houses and semi-detached houses with spacious meeting areas are being built on a total area of 55,000 square metres. The buildings acquired by KINGSTONE RE are being built in accordance with the BEG-40 energy efficiency standard and will be equipped with photovoltaic systems on the roofs, extensive green roofs and rainwater retention systems.
The project location in the inner-city district on Wuppertal’s Nordbahntrasse offers good public transport connections, including via the Wuppertal suspension railway and several bus lines. Facilities for daily needs are available in the area and some are within walking distance.
