Hines, a global real estate investor, developer and manager, can report another letting success for the Mira Shopping Center: The internationally oriented provider of creative DIY (do-it-yourself) solutions Selfmade has rented around 970 m² on the ground floor directly at the main entrance. The opening is scheduled for 30.10.2025. With the new addition, Hines continues to strengthen the strategic repositioning of the Mira.
“With Selfmade, we have once again been able to gain an attractive tenant for our center. The DIY store’s offer in the creative sector opens the Mira to a wider clientele that will fully benefit our realignment of the location,” says Christian Meister, Senior Managing Director at Hines.
The Selfmade company offers a wide range of high-quality products for sewing, knitting, crocheting and other creative projects. In addition, workshops are held regularly. Founded in Denmark in 1980, Selfmade now has 31 stores in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Germany and Austria – nine of which are currently located in Germany alone.
In addition, Takko Fashion will also open a branch on the ground floor on more than 510 m² on September 11. The range includes fashion, lingerie and accessories for women, men, children and babies. The company already operates over 1,200 stores in Germany.
Built in 2008, the Mira has a total lettable area of around 25,300 m², including approx. 22,230 m² of retail space, around 850 m² of office space and around 2,220 m² for other uses. The almost 60 tenants include Kaufland, H&M, New Yorker, KIK, Woolworth, Deichmann, dm and Aldi. The food court in the basement as well as numerous service and catering establishments round off the offer.
As an asset manager, Hines is working on a comprehensive realignment of the site. In addition to the optimisation of administrative processes and a targeted relaunch of the space, the focus is on the renewal of common areas, the expansion of modern service offerings and better access to the entrances.
The center is excellently connected to public transport. The Dülferstraße underground station (U2) offers direct access to the Mira, supplemented by several bus lines. More than 710 car parking spaces are available in the hotel’s own multi-storey car park.
