Start of construction of the quarter planned for autumn 2026
S&P Commercial Development, a subsidiary of the Sontowski & Partner Group, has sold a part of the plot of land with around 7,000 m² to ALDI SÜD as part of the “Munapark” district development in Traunreut. The food retailer is thus securing a central location in the city centre and is focusing on long-term anchoring in the market.
“With the acquisition of the property, we are clearly committed to the Traunreut location and to the quality of the neighbourhood development. Instead of tenants, we become owners – a strong signal of our commitment to sustainability. We will be building one of the most modern ALDI SOUTH stores in the region here and are pleased to be part of a sustainable district,” emphasises Christoph Zeller, Director Real Estate at ALDI SOUTH.
The overall development of Munapark will remain unchanged and will be implemented as planned, both architecturally and in terms of uses. The building acquired by ALDI SOUTH will house several floors of office and service space above the store on the ground floor. In the rest of the quarter, a dm drugstore and Deichmann will also be part of the retail offer. The district structure is complemented by modern office units, furnished apartments and a residential complex. A senior citizens’ residential centre of BayernCare marks the start of the project on the corner of Traunring and Eichendorffstraße.
After the conclusion of the contract, the building law framework can now be concretized in exchange with the city in order to then go into implementation next year. Construction is scheduled to start in autumn 2026.
“We are very pleased that the project can now gradually be implemented after intensive preparation. Despite the challenging conditions in the construction industry, we were able to set the course for an urban and economically sustainable project,” explains Stephan Meier, Head of Project Development at S&P Commercial Development.
Neighbourhood close to the centre with diversity and quality of stay
Munapark is being built on an approximately 18,000 m² plot of land near the city centre on the Traunring and will be a new, important meeting point in the city. The new quarter not only creates important offers, but will also contribute to better networking of the city centre thanks to its central location and thoroughfare.
