The OSMAB Group has commissioned four photovoltaic systems with a total output of 6.1 megawatt peak (MWp) on the roof of the first hall of the logistics development Log Plaza Frankfurt (Oder). In the future, the plants will generate around 5,839 MWh of electricity per year – enough to supply the equivalent of more than 2,100 households or 3,200 single households. At the same time, more than 3.4 million kilograms of CO₂ are saved annually.

With the commissioning of the four plants, OSMAB Holding AG now operates 48 photovoltaic systems with a total installed capacity of 27.1 MWp. The annual electricity production is thus over 25.7 million kWh.

“With the commissioning of the four plants, we are making a concrete contribution to the regional energy transition and at the same time realizing one of the largest photovoltaic projects in the history of our group of companies,” says Anton Mertens, CEO of OSMAB Holding AG. “Our thanks go in particular to the grid operator, who provided the necessary grid capacities for this service.”

Photovoltaics as part of project development

The Log Plaza Frankfurt (Oder) is being developed by ALCARO Invest GmbH, a subsidiary of OSMAB Holding AG specialising in logistics real estate. The photovoltaic systems have been an integral part of the project planning from the very beginning.

“In our view, the higher load capacity for PV systems is a sensible additional expense,” says Markus Kroner, Managing Director of ALCARO Invest GmbH. “In this way, we avoid additional land use and use already sealed roofs efficiently for energy generation.”

Hall B was completed in autumn 2025 with around 100,000 square metres of rental space, making it the largest unit on the approximately 44-hectare site. The approximately 90,000 square metre roof area alone offers considerable potential for the further expansion of photovoltaic systems with a possible output of up to 11 MWp.

Project status and rental

The new Hall B can be rented both as a total area and in units between 6,800 and 10,400 square metres. In addition, Hall A with around 47,500 square metres will be available from February 2026. A further 24,000 square metres are planned for Hall C. A total of around 170,000 square metres will be built on the site

Rental space, supplemented by 900 car and 84 truck parking spaces. A permit for the storage of lithium-ion batteries has been obtained.

Sustainability beyond photovoltaics

In addition to the PV systems that have already been commissioned and planned, the project meets the EG40 energy standard and has been awarded the DGNB Gold Certificate. The equipment includes charging points for cars and bicycles, underfloor heating controlled by heat pumps and a planned charging hub for e-trucks to cover future requirements of the logistics industry.

Strong logistics location Frankfurt (Oder)

Frankfurt (Oder) is located directly on the A12/E30 and is part of the most important east-west corridor in Europe. Berlin can be reached in about an hour, Warsaw in about four hours.

“Our tenants here benefit not only from modern and sustainable space, but also from fast approval processes, attractive funding programs and an efficient infrastructure,” says Dennis Knecht, Sales Manager of the OSMAB Group. “This makes the Log Plaza Frankfurt (Oder) a sustainable location with international prospects.”
