The Cardo Brussels Hotel, Autograph Collection by Marriott, part of the Aroundtown portfolio, was named Urban Lifestyle Hotel of the Year at this year’s European Hotel Awards. This award recognises outstanding achievements and innovations in the European luxury hospitality sector and highlights the exceptional quality and appeal of this accommodation in the heart of Brussels.

The Cardo Brussels Hotel is located in the business district of the Belgian capital, close to attractions such as the Grand Place, the Royal Palace and the Atomium. The 30-story hotel building dominates the Brussels skyline with its unique facade, which is based on René Magritte’s famous painting ‘Le fils de l’homme’. “The Cardo Brussels is a special hotel – modern, open and right in the heart of the city. After a major renovation by Aroundtown, the hotel was fully operational in 2024 – a modernization that has significantly increased both the appeal of the property and the comfort for guests. “The award at the European Hotel Awards is a recognition of everyone involved in the development of Cardo Brussels. Through good cooperation, we were able to realize our ambition to create a building that combines design, quality and the vibrancy of the city of Brussels,” says Marije Bekker, Head of Asset Management of the Hotel Division at Aroundtown.
Recognition for excellence in European hospitality
The European Hotel Awards have been presented since 2018 and are considered one of the most important awards in the industry. An independent jury of experts evaluates applications from all over Europe on the basis of criteria such as quality, creativity, service excellence and sustainability. The Cardo Brussels convinced the jury with its modern concept, which harmoniously combines urban lifestyle, design art and maximum comfort.
