ENERTRAG Service opened a new education and training centre in Dauerthal on 4 August 2026. At the start, the company welcomed four new service technicians from South Africa, five prospective electronics technicians for industrial engineering and one prospective warehouse logistics specialist. The opening combines the promotion of young talent, international recruitment of skilled workers and modern training infrastructure.
The new centre bundles training, qualification and further education in one place. All technical training rooms are state-of-the-art. In addition to cabinets for metalworking, hydraulics and pneumatics as well as electrical and electronic components, a training room is available for the qualification of service technicians and other specialists. In the future, the induction of new service technicians, annual training courses and specialist qualifications will take place there. With the start of the South African colleagues and the new junior staff, the Dauerthaler Speicher will be put into operation as a training facility even before its official opening at the end of September.
For the first time, ENERTRAG is training junior technical staff completely independently, without inter-company partners. The first-year trainees, five electronics technicians for industrial engineering and warehouse logistics specialists, will in future learn in their own training hall in Dauerthaler Speicher. From 2028, a class of five trainees is to be led to the vocational qualification every year.
Kanyisa, Siyabonga, Xabiso and Njabulo from South Africa will strengthen ENERTRAG service teams in Germany in the future. They arrived on July 31, 2026 and started their program in Dauerthal on August 3, 2026. First, they complete a German language course and technical training before they are deployed as long-term service technicians at various locations. The new South African colleagues belong to the second group of a relocation programme with which ENERTRAG Service specifically recruits experienced specialists abroad. In this way, the company counteracts the shortage of skilled workers and secures the capacities for the further growth of ENERTRAG Service.
This year, the number of junior employees at ENERTRAG has grown to a total of 29, almost double the number of previous year. The spectrum ranges from training in the areas of office, industry, IT, kitchen, warehouse and electronics for industrial engineering to dual courses of study in marketing and digital media, business psychology, business administration with taxes and auditing as well as industrial engineering.
In addition to the new infrastructure at ENERTRAG headquarters in Dauerthal, the 2026 training year will bring several innovations. Kiel is added as a new training location, Berlin is reactivated after 15 years. The profession of IT specialist for application development is being retrained, and industrial clerk is returning to the offer. In the dual study programme, ENERTRAG is launching two new university cooperations with the FOM University of Applied Sciences in Berlin and the HAW Kiel and is expanding its cooperation with the HWR Berlin to include the Department of Business Administration with Taxes and Auditing.
