Handing over the baton at FÜRST Berlin: At the beginning of July 2026, project developer and asset manager CELLS handed over leasing management to Newmark. The globally active commercial real estate expert Newmark is thus the new “Owners Representative” for the major project on Berlin’s Kurfürstendamm. CELLS will continue to be involved in the project as general planner.
“Over the past two years, we have come to know CELLS as a comprehensive project partner who has provided us with significant support in both structural development and marketing, including the first lease agreements. We are convinced that the cooperation with CELLS in the field of construction will continue to be crowned with success,” says Josip Kardun, CEO of FÜRST. “With Newmark on board, we expect an even broader and, above all, stronger international tenant approach in order to attract more well-known companies and brands to the FÜRST.”
As part of their mandate, the Newmark team led by Nathalie Wegner and Richard Jütte is to strengthen the overarching positioning of FÜRST, identify target tenants and manage market development. “The FÜRST is not a classic office project, it is a statement for the future of City West,” says Marcus Lütgering, Country Head Germany at Newmark. “Anyone who invests in a place with this charisma needs a partner who not only understands the Berlin market, but also has a broad network for addressing international users. This is exactly the bridge we are building.”
In his role as general planner, CELLS will concentrate on the coordination of tenant planning and fit-outs as part of his portfolio of tasks in the project. Jan Trenn, CEO of CELLS, adds: “We are very proud to have established the FÜRST as a top product in a highly competitive Berlin office market in close cooperation with those responsible for the project. Now we are passing on the baton and concentrating on the topics entrusted to us in terms of construction.”
The FÜRST is a modern and mixed-use real estate ensemble in Berlin’s City West. On a total area of around 106,000 m², a modern urban quarter is being built on Kurfürstendamm with a mix of uses consisting of around 58,000 m² of office space, approx. 14,200 m² of culture and leisure, as well as further areas for retail and gastronomic offerings.
