New company builds bridge between capital and investment needs of the public sector
With GARBE Infrastructure Invest GmbH, GARBE is launching an independent investment advisory company within GARBE Infrastructure. The managing directors are Dr. Thomas Kallenbrunnen (CEO), Dr. Tobias Brosze (Chief Technical Officer – CTO) and Nikolaos Thomas (CFO/COO).
The new unit provides investors with access to infrastructure assets with a focus on Germany and accompanies municipalities, municipal utilities and public partners throughout the entire life cycle of their projects. In doing so, GARBE contributes its six decades of implementation experience and, above all, technical development expertise to projects in all asset classes. The main topics are property-related infrastructure investments such as schools or company buildings, as well as cooperation with municipal utilities and municipal companies on the topics of energy and supply. Transformation and innovation topics such as battery storage or data centers are also part of the investment approach.
“Institutional capital is available. But new ways are needed to organise cooperation between the public sector and private know-how – that’s what our approach stands for,” says Thomas Kallenbrunnen. “Germany is facing enormous challenges in the infrastructure sector. There is an investment backlog in the billions in almost all sub-sectors.”
Tobias Brosze as a bridge builder
Tobias Brosze was previously responsible for investment programs related to electricity and water supply as well as strategic planning of the heat supply in Mainz and the surrounding area as a long-standing technical director of Mainzer Stadtwerke AG. He knows both sides: the expectations and processes of a municipal utility or a municipality for a reliable partner and the requirements of investors for a sustainable investment. Brosze was already involved in the development of the company as a consultant and will move to the management board when it was founded. He stands for the municipal understanding, the energy industry expertise as well as the implementation and operating competence that will distinguish GARBE Infrastructure Invest.
“I know how municipalities and municipal companies decide and how to take projects from idea to implementation,” says Tobias Brosze.
