Harden Industriebau, acting as the main contractor, has successfully completed another challenging construction project: the Panattoni Campus Augsburg. On a brownfield site covering approximately 46,000 m² in the Lechhausen industrial estate in Augsburg-Lechhausen, a modern commercial and logistics hub has been created, combining flexible space solutions with high standards of sustainability and build quality.
“This is a special project for us, combining a large-scale logistics property and a business park on a single site. In doing so, we have demonstrated that we can deliver complex construction projects involving different building designs and high sustainability standards within an ambitious timeframe,” says Thorsten Pollok, Managing Director of Harden Industriebau. “Our dedicated project team and all our partners have made this success possible through their passion and commitment.”
A modern site offering a wide range of uses
The Panattoni Campus Augsburg combines two different concepts in a single location: the Panattoni Park, with large-scale logistics spaces, and the City Dock(R), with commercial units that can be flexibly subdivided.
The logistics park comprises 17,400 m² of logistics space, 970 m² of office space and 1,670 m² of mezzanine storage space. The second part of the campus concept, the business park, complements the site with its seven units, offering a total of just under 9,000 m² of space.
Brownfield development with a focus on sustainability
The regeneration of the former industrial site was of particular significance. The site had previously housed, amongst other things, a high-bay warehouse and a production facility for railway sleepers. The new development will see the site, which already had an industrial character, put to a new, forward-looking use.
Numerous measures were also implemented as part of the technical and environmental design. These include provision for large-scale photovoltaic systems, extensive green roofs, the use of district heating, and the use of rainwater for the outdoor facilities.
The aim is for the campus to achieve DGNB Platinum certification; two of the halls have already successfully completed the certification process. The project thus underlines its commitment to combining modern commercial and logistics properties with economic functionality and sustainable building concepts.
Growth through industrial construction
For Harden Industriebau, the completion of this project marks another important step in the company’s development. Since launching in Germany in 2023, the main contractor has specialised in the construction of complex industrial, logistics and commercial properties. The Panattoni Campus Augsburg thus joins a growing number of projects in which Harden Industriebau focuses on a combination of high-quality construction, efficient project management and sustainable solutions.
