Statement on the Real Estate Arena 2026
The Real Estate Arena real estate fair in Hanover, which started yesterday, ends today. Bastian Humbach, Managing Director of HAMBURG TEAM Project Development, provides you with a picture of the mood of the event for possible reporting below:
“The mood at the Real Estate Arena 2026 was realistic, but not resigned. It became clear how many hurdles project development currently has to overcome – at the same time, there were numerous examples of projects moving forward despite these conditions. That is encouraging. For residential construction, however, the problem remains unchanged: the development periods have been disproportionately longer and the approval procedures are becoming increasingly complex. If you want affordable housing, you have to start with overregulation and the duration of proceedings. Planning security and acceleration are not questions of comfort, but a prerequisite for building economically at all.”
