Gardiner & Theobald (G&T) has signed a lease with MEAG, the global asset manager of Munich Re Group, for its new London headquarters at 30 Finsbury Square, London EC2.
G&T will occupy 54,939 sq ft (3.5 floors) of the multi-tenanted office building which is currently under development. G&T’s lease will commence in 2028 with occupancy planned for Q3 2029.
The decision follows a review of G&T’s future workplace requirements and a search for a new office to support the firm’s continued growth and evolving ways of working. The new office will provide G&T with a high-quality, flexible workplace designed to support collaboration, client engagement and the changing needs of the firm.
30 Finsbury Square was selected for its location, transport connectivity, sustainability credentials, quality of workspace and wellbeing facilities, as well as its ability to provide a long-term home for the firm as the business continues to evolve.
G&T’s Managing Partner, Adam Glover, said: “Securing our new headquarters at 30 Finsbury Square is an important milestone for G&T and a significant investment in our future. We wanted to find a workplace that would support the business over the long term – somewhere that works for our people, provides an excellent environment for our clients and gives us the flexibility to respond to how the firm continues to develop. 30 Finsbury Square gives us the opportunity to create a workplace that reflects who we are as a business today and how we want to work in the future. We are very pleased to have reached this stage with MEAG and look forward to working with them as we develop our occupancy strategy.”
The 122,000 sq ft building occupies a prime position on Finsbury Square, with proximity to the City, Old Street and Shoreditch. Comprising lower ground, ground and eight upper floors, the next-generation workspace is targeting several sustainability accreditations and offers a range of amenities including biodiverse landscaping, a winter garden, roof terrace, wellbeing suite and end-of-journey facilities.
Dr Stefan Haas, Board Member and Global Head of Real Estate of MEAG, said: “We are delighted to welcome Gardiner & Theobald to 30 Finsbury Square. Their decision to make our development their future London headquarters is a strong endorsement of the quality of the development and the workplace we are creating. We look forward to working closely with them as construction progresses and to welcoming their teams to the building.”
Construction at 30 Finsbury Square is expected to complete in summer 2027. G&T will continue to operate from its existing office at 10 South Crescent in Bloomsbury until the end of its lease in 2029.
