Targeted repositioning of the inner city quarter
The global real estate service provider CBRE has brokered 600 square meters in Hamburg's Hanseviertel to ZARA Home. The interior brand of the Spanish fashion group Inditex will open the prominently located area at the small rotunda before the end of this year. The completion is part of the strategic repositioning of the traditional inner city district.
"The lease by ZARA Home is a strong signal of the attractiveness of high-quality inner-city locations," says Marcel Jörke, Managing Director Retail Consulting at CBRE. "With the decision in favor of the Hanseviertel, not only the district, but also the entire city center of Hamburg gains in attraction. We are seeing a clear return to central retail locations - both among international brands and consumers."
ZARA Home is returning to its former location: The brand was already present in the Große Bleichen before. The new area in the Hanseviertel was previously used by "Schacht & Westrich" and "Who's Perfect". With this new deal, CBRE is strengthening customer footfall in the western Passagenviertel and underlining the attractiveness of the listed quarter as a premium location for retail, gastronomy and urban mixed-use.
The Hanseviertel comprises around 45,000 square metres of rental space with around 60 shops, office space, apartments and the adjacent Renaissance Hotel. It was built between 1978 and 1980 according to the plans of Prof. Volkwin Marg and is considered an architectural highlight of postmodern architecture in Hamburg.
