OFB Projektentwicklung GmbH has won EDEKA Minden-Hannover as a retail tenant for the project ‘THE FRIEDENAUER ́ at Innsbrucker Platz, which is currently under construction. The company will implement a full-range food retailer and expand the existing local supply offer in the surrounding area in a targeted manner.
The lease agreement has been concluded with EDEKA-MIHA Immobilien-Service GmbH and the opening is scheduled for the end of 2027. The new market will be accessed at ground level via the main street. The corner location at the entrance to the Friedenauer Höhe district ensures optimal visibility and accessibility. A modern store concept is planned with a clear focus on the shopping experience, regionality and high-quality fresh products, including a bakery in the pre-checkout area and a service counter for meat, sausage and cheese.
The market is within walking distance of the Innsbrucker Platz S-Bahn and U-Bahn station. Parking spaces are available for cars and bicycles.
Dr. Bernd Schade, Chairman of the Management Board of OFB Projektentwicklung: “In the development of ‘THE FRIEDENAUER ́, we have pursued a consistently sustainable approach. This also includes an efficient local supply in the immediate vicinity, which is of central importance both for the future office users and for the surrounding district. With EDEKA Minden-Hannover, we have been able to gain a strong tenant who will establish a modern and comprehensive range of products and services at the location.”
Gordon Pilz, Area Manager Expansion at EDEKA Minden-Hannover: “Innsbrucker Platz is a lively location with a large catchment area. We can create real added value there with a new EDEKA store. We look forward to welcoming the residents of Friedenauer Höhe and the entire surrounding area to our new store in the future.”
With ‘THE FRIEDENAUER ́, OFB is realising an urban usage concept based on designs by Tchoban Voss Architekten, which combines office, retail and restaurant space as well as a roof terrace and community lounge on around 21,000 square metres. Kieback&Peter was won as an anchor tenant for office space at an early stage. The company, which specialises in building automation, will locate its new headquarters at the site.
The ESG-compliant building is being developed in accordance with the EU taxonomy and is aiming for DGNB Gold and WiredScore certifications. The envisaged climate-neutral operation is based on an innovative energy concept without fossil fuels, which includes, among other things, the use of wastewater heat and photovoltaics on the roof surfaces.
The new construction project marks the entrance to the ‘Friedenauer Höhe ́’ district development with a total of 1,060 apartments and a spacious public park.
