OSMAB acquires around 26,500 square meters of commercial property in Kerpen

OSMAB has acquired a 26,539 square metre plot of land at Boschstraße 19 in Kerpen. The seller of the property is Uniplan GmbH & Co. KG, one of the world’s leading agencies for brand experience. The purchase price was not disclosed.

The property is divided into two sub-areas: a largely undeveloped development site with a tent storage hall and an existing property used by the seller herself with about 5,442 square meters of office, social and hall space, which was built in 1992. The entire area of the existing property was leased back by the seller in the course of the sale.

The location in the established industrial area near the Kerpen motorway junction (A4/A61) is characterised by very good accessibility. In the immediate vicinity are also the logistics project “Log Plaza Kerpen 5”, which was developed by the OSMAB subsidiary ALCARO Invest – as well as an adjacent, approx. 25,000 square metre existing site, on which a hall rented by Poco is currently located.

“With the acquisition of the property in Boschstraße, we are strengthening our presence in the Kerpen region and continuing our investment strategy. The combination of existing space and development potential opens up attractive opportunities for future use,” says Anton Mertens, CEO of OSMAB Holding AG. “The sale of land and leaseback can be useful for many companies, which can actively use previously tied up capital for their actual business model and at the same time gain flexibility.”

The seller side is also satisfied with the deal: “We are pleased to have found a reliable and experienced partner in OSMAB who appreciates the potential of the location. At the same time, the partial leaseback ensures a smooth transition for us in the modernization of our logistics site in Kerpen,” says Christian Zimmermann, Global CEO of Uniplan.
