The IPH Group has brokered the Sandbox VR concept as a new tenant in Munich’s central bus station. Sandbox VR is a location-based virtual reality experience in which groups experience freely accessible, interactive virtual worlds together using state-of-the-art VR technology. The opening took place on 18 February.
“The lease to Sandbox VR is a central component of our leasing strategy for the central bus station. Our goal is to open up the location more to the surrounding neighborhood in addition to bus travelers. Further rentals will focus on a modern gastronomy and convenience offer in order to appeal even more strongly to office workers in the area,” says Lukas Bauer, Consultant at the IPH Group.
Opened in 2009, Munich’s central bus station in the Arnulfpark district is a service and trade centre with 29 bus terminals for national and international scheduled services. After initially high vacancy rates, the IPH Group was commissioned by Wealthcap, as real asset and investment manager as well as owner representative of the Central Bus Station (ZOB), with the repositioning and leasing of the retail space. As part of the new strategy, the focus was not only on passport offices, but also on local supply and gastronomy.
