Eurowind Energy is placing three wind farms with a total of 70 MW despite falling hammer prices. Through the cooperation with Blackstone, the company received fresh capital for project acquisitions and realizations. This pays off in stormy times.
Eurowind Energy successfully placed three wind farms with a total capacity of 70 MW in the last tender for onshore wind energy. This means that ten modern wind turbines, each with a capacity of 7 MW, will soon participate in the energy supply in Germany. The company, with its development pipeline now around 5 GW, is thus postponing these three projects into the construction phase. The construction portfolio already includes 15 projects with a total installed capacity of 284 MW – only in Germany!
The tender results underline the company's competitiveness in one of Europe's largest renewable energy markets. However, the market for wind power project planning is coming under increasing pressure due to falling hammer prices (most recently around 5 cents per kWh), highly concluded land leases and rising construction costs. More and more permits for windmills are in the drawers of project developers without any construction. The company Eurowind Energy nevertheless retains its optimism in this situation.
David Christopher Stahl, Managing Director of Eurowind Energy GmbH: "The successful awards confirm our project portfolio. They show that we are excellently positioned to help shape the energy transition in Germany. Sensible, sustainable management of our company pays off, especially in these turbulent times. We are a reliable partner without going too far – our decisive competitive advantage in a stormy market situation."
Eurowind Energy is growing through greenfield development, but also through project acquisitions and purchases of old turbines for repowering. Here, the company is still looking for projects that have stalled in order to breathe in this "fresh Eurowind".
David Christopher Stahl: "To this end, we are also looking for new employees who want to contribute their professional experience in project development or EPC/construction – people who want to actively shape the next generation of wind energy projects in Germany."
