TotalEnergies bundles its electricity business in Germany together with VSB under “Integrated Power Germany” for profitable and low-CO₂ energy solutions
TotalEnergies is restructuring its integrated electricity business in Germany and will in future bundle its activities under “Integrated Power Germany”. The associated subsidiaries QUADRA energy Sales & Origination, Kyon Energy, VSB and the Group’s German offshore wind business will be brought together more closely in the new organisational unit.
With “Integrated Power Germany”, the Group is bundling its core competencies along the entire value chain for renewable electricity: from the development, implementation and operation of wind and solar projects to large-scale battery storage as well as the direct marketing and aggregation of renewable power generation and the development of offshore wind projects in the North Sea and Baltic Sea. The aim is to drive forward the development of economically viable and low-CO₂ energy solutions. Alexandre Duret-Proux will take over the management of the new unit as Managing Director TotalEnergies Integrated Power Germany.
“The new structure creates clarity and additional clout combined with VSB’s strengths: more than 30 years of experience in the development, implementation and operation of wind and solar projects. For municipalities, land owners, project partners and investors, this means that VSB continues to combine local project expertise with the financial strength, market presence and integrated electricity know-how of TotalEnergies,” says Thomas Winkler, Managing Director of VSB in Germany.
With the acquisitions of QUADRA energy in 2023, Kyon Energy in 2024 and the VSB Group in 2025, TotalEnergies has systematically expanded its presence in the German electricity market. The company aims to increase its global net electricity production to more than 100 TWh per year by 2030, with around two-thirds coming from renewable sources. Germany plays a central role in the European electricity business due to its market size, ambitious expansion targets for renewable energies and the growing need for flexibility.
